have 125 gal tank with 12 discus
been fine until recently noticed two of the more aggressive eaters have darkened in color and have white feces. few of the fish also scratching some. i think i have a combination of flukes and hexamita.
this sux cuz i have been extra diligent with 40% water changes weekly and keeping filters in line.
i have canister filter with nitrite media, activated carbon adn biological filter
also have two number 5 sponge filters?
last readings on the tank were
ph 6.2
gh75
kh0-40
clorine 0
nitrate 0
nitrite 0
clear water, no fuzzy fungus that i can see, but been obsessive in watching their behavior. fakes plants, two large driftwood.
can i treat the whole tank with metrondazol and fluke meds? think those are the right treatment? and do i take out carbon filter during this period? adn for how long? i was so upset, i dont want to loose any fish.
