I was in shock when I saw this video on You Tube today. I have heard of a Mother being able to have this unbelievable strength and save/help their children but this was just Amazing to me. Here is the link to it if ya want go check it out.

Oh yea, Just wanted to point out that I am a "Big Cat" Lover...I love all tigers, lions, panthers, I collect everything in those prints...I call my bedroom the wild kingdom because of all of the animal pix & prints I got going in here. I was glad the end result of that video was the way it was tho!

Epic battle. Unfortunately I would think the calf would eventually die as a result of injury. Cool video though, thanks for pointing it out!

A[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] Gm, why'd ya have to point that out...I was all happy until you did...I didn't even think of that...I hope he is just fine, he seems like a fighter to get up after all of that. Don't you think?

Hate to rain on your parade, but no, nature says no way. The calf was under a choke hold for some time. Multiple bite wounds to the body from multiple lion bites, not to mention the crocodile attack. Nope. Dead within a few days. No way to clean the wounds.

They have another calf video on you tube the was basically in the same position(being attacked by a pack of lions) he was held for about 10 minutes and then rescued by his Mother, kind of in the same way but it was night time in that video anyway the calf survived that attack and his ears were gone, nose chewed up bad, and the whole nine. That video was why I thought he would have made it. Poor lil calf.

Well he survived, yes, but long term? There's just no way. I mean, think about it from a human perspective. I could get hit by a car and survive, but only because they take care of me in the hospital. CAT scans to reveal the internal bleeding, stitches to close the wounds, etc. That calf doesn't have any of that. Circle of life at the pinnacle of the very definition. That calf probably died within a few days and was consumed by the scavengers that help keep everything moving along.

OK, OK, I know, I know! I just wanted to wish for a Happy Ending...can't I dream...lol. I get the Circle of Life..I watched The Loin King Movie...hehe No seriously I figured he was dead when the Croc. got him but I don't know I guess I just wished the Buffalo had won and that's was the "Happy Ending". Then you came in and pinched me and woke me up....lol Thanks Alot!

Ummm, okay, wait a minute. There is this like, really cool place that all of the water buffaloes go, the Buffalo Hospital. They get better there. And never die. Ever. Really. :c5:
Seriously though, I always root for the little guys too, but nature is nature and there isn't anything we can do about it.

Unless they go to the Buffalo Hospital. Then they are fine. Forever. :ezpi_wink1:

Trust, me, I do know where you are coming from. I have to constantly deal with feral cats at my house. My house at which I am trying to support natural wildlife. Not a good mix, and unfortunately the feral cats have got to lose.

I guess I make up for that given that we have 5 cats, 3 dogs, a hamster, and 9 tanks. :19:

A zoo indeed. I didn't mention before that we also have this other creature in our house, this thing that runs around real loud like? We call her Skylar. She is our 4 1/2 year old daughter-type-creature. :1luvu:
