He will eat whatever is put in the tank for the other fish. According to some,he will just eat the other fish:hmm3grin2orange:

If you're algae is gone, consider rehoming it.

As they get larger they get more aggressive towards other fish.

Just to answer the question, get some algae wafers, and make sure some of the reg flake gets to the bottom, as smaug said.

As they get larger they can sometimes get aggressive to other fish. I have kept several to adulthood over the years with no aggression at all.

My thought is likely it depends on what they're kept with, how busy the tank is, and how large it is.

I currently have one of each. One that chases other fish, and one that I hardly ever see...

Like everything else in aquarium-hood, what you keep and how you keep it influences how fish behave...

i am attaching the pic of the fish from my take, not very sure if its a CAE.
mine is a 4 feet planted tank with red eye tetra.

now after adding the new fish almost all algae is now clear.. now worried abt its feeding ... what should i feed them ... or will they be attacking other fishes. till now there is no attack seen

With red eyed tetra,I would not worry about the aggressive attitude.Chinese algae eaters, are "usually" limited to being nasty toward fish in there general area of tank space.Large sided fish such as silver dollar, nosy cichlids, shark like shaped fish(who can be nasty toward others also)loaches, who have eye spines to thwart attackers.Garra's and scaleless catfish(pim's,some bagrids)who can suffer abrasions and worse from disc shaped algae scraping mouths. But not all chinese algae eaters are mean.Just as not all jewels cichlids, convicts, and such are. Each fish has a unique personality.good luck and give it a try.:22:Chinese algae eaters actually eat microorganisms(little crusties and such)that live in the algae and the clearing of the green is a by product.

Thanks all. as of now all are one good family and doing ok.

i am more worried abt the food now as after the algae are over how will it feed itself ...should i start putting more food to the tank so that there are left overs ??
