Guppies with Oscar Fish

Can I keep guppies with my Oscar fish if I intend for him to eat them?

Additionally, how many guppies should I get for them to spawn quickly?

If you put guppies in with an oscar they will be eaten before they have a chance to spawn, never mind time to actually give birth.

Cichlid pellets are better balanced nutritionally.
Hikari makes an Oscar specific pellet, but there are a multitude of suitable pelleted foods.
