Somehow, i have no idea how since you say you had no plants, you got a pond snail. How long did you have Ryan Reynolds before these "baby" snails started to appear?

Mr. Reynolds has been with me for about 7 months. I only noticed the "babies" a few weeks ago (which isn't to say they weren't there prior to that...)

Hmm. I was gonna say maybe there was a pond snail on Mr. Reynolds when you got him, maybe a baby that nobody saw sitting on his shell, but no, they would have showed up faster i think if that was the case. Im stumped.

UNLESS!!!!!!! ... Maybe a pond snail laid 2 eggs on Mr. Reynolds, since they usually keep the nerites with the plants and therefore with the pond snails. A pond snail egg takes 2 weeks to hatch in 78 degree or warmer water, and 4 weeks in colder water. When those egg hatched, the two could have disappeared somewhere as tiny little unseen babies. Then, when they matured, they bred and had eggs of their own. 2-4 weeks later, these eggs hatched, and voila! Outbreak of snails. Very weird circumstance, but there is a possibility this happened. Only explanation my imagination can come up with. :)
