Okay my whisper 3i filter just started bubbling inside the filter area, where it returns the water. Its making a bunch of popping noises with the bubbles under the little "door/lid" thing.. Why is it blowing bubbles?? I tried moving the filter media a little bit but nothing...still returning bubbles. The water is still flowing and all, so I know the water levels high enough, but there are alot of bubbles returned with the water.

Is your airstone near your intake?

Airstone? This isn't the ugf, its the in-tank whisper 3i. sorry if i'm just ignorant to the fact that there may be an airstone on there somewhere? lol I really have no idea.
Here's the set up just for reference.....if anyone should need it other than me. lmao :)

By the looks of the filter, i think it has an airstone inside it? Was it always bubbling?

No airstone. Air powered. Is the water level in your tank high enough?

The box said to make sure the water level was right below the spout, so thats where I put it.

Sounds to me as it's sucking in air. Tanks should be filled to within 2 inches from the top.
Drumachine meant that if you happen to have a bubbler or airstone in the tank, the bubbles from that might be getting sucked up the tubes causing air in the filter.

Nope there is no bubbler or airstone in the tank. Just the filter, heater and thermometer.

I still agree it must be sucking air, is the intake fitted securely and no splits in it?

Not sure, should be okay since its only been running for a couple days. I'll check it out though. Thanks for the suggestions.

Unplugged it, took it out, inspected the whole thing. Pushed pieces together to make sure nothing was loose. Adjusted water levels...... Nothing!! Still blowing bubbles!!! Grrr lol I am going to email the company and find out what they have to say. Probably nothing other than "Well I dunno why its doing that, sorry we cant help you."
