Hi I have two parrots and I was wondering what else. I could put in with them? Oh I also have three grommies,two kissing and one pearl.

Come on Guys. I really need some useful info. on the this subject. I've had my gourmai's for about four years and yes they are on the bigger side and my parrots. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what else I can put in the tank. Please Help!

I have parrots and found them to get along with all community fish so far. I've had them with tetra's, platies, rainbows, bristle nose catfish and an angelfish. I would not keep them with aggressive fish. The only fish I had with them they didn't care for were my featherfins. The parrots didn't hurt them but the featherfins kept bugging the parrots.

They are currently with some small gold tetra's.

I see no problem. How do you like your parrots? I've had 9 of them. One lived to 8 years, the other 8 1/2. Lost one a few months ago due to some reason or another and have 5 left. I love these fish!

Do you like severums?

I too love my parrots....I have had mine for almost 5 years and they are indeed lovable little creatures...digging, making caves..we have one that follows you in all your daily endevours, so addicting these little creatures. Their names are felix and oscar after the odd couple :):shappy:

German blue rams and severums would be a nice addition to that tank, Severums are one of my favorite fish, I have them in with mine along with a green terror who is extremly peaceful and we have great harmony.:shappy:

My tank is in a good spot my parrots can see everything. That is going on in the house and they love it. I was also thinking of severums to. I'm just not sure, what to get?

Personally, my favorites are basically listed in my signature:
My all time favorites are Severums, I perfer gold to green
Next if my parrots then my terror, my firemouth, then my rams and angels.

I am more or less a cichlid chick...not much for community tanks, I will leave that to the experts

If I had my way, I'd have a 200 gallon full of them! I'd love to have some King Kongs, too. Always so colorful and fun to watch and no matter what goes in with them, they are happy with it. They're like a little herd of puppies. I can't deal with fish that constantly want to spawn and always wanting to fight and inflict injuries on others.

I like severums, too, but no room for anymore fish.

me neither, that's why I don't have Africans anymore...nothing relaxing about that, but one thing I will say about Parrots they have great personalities and the most fun to watch, do you have any Severums Lady Hobbs

I once had a pair of parrots in a 92g w/ an oscar and 3 silver dollars and it was always peace and quiet in there. My oscar was never aggressive, I think due to a quality diet excluding any live food. The parrots were so comfy they were always trying to make babies... No fry obviously though! Had them for a good 6 or 7 yrs. Great fish, I'll get them again some day.

Woman, you're killing me! I've wanted severums for a long time but now that I've been chattin' here with you, I just had a huge brainstorm! My 55 planted has only a few rainbows in it and one angel. I've been getting bored with community fish so haven't added to the stock. I could definately put a couple severums in that tank!

WHY have I not thought of that before!!!!!!! I spent $100 on crap to turn that tank into a paludarium this week, too! sheeesh!

OMG.....my lady, Severums are the best cichlids known to man, my absoulte fav's...you really should do that, they rock!!!....don't forget though

I love my parrots now that they came out of hiding finally. I have them with rams and cories right now, I don't think they would hurt a fly, I think your options are pretty much open as far as tankmates go.
