My fake plants and my walls of tank have been getting a little fuzzy hair-like clear to white growth on them. Is this just algae, or something else? It doesnt seem to bug the fish, and it comes off with my algae scraper but it takes a few brushes because its stubborn. THe snails and pleco attempt to keep it under control, but it grows back really fast. Im going to store today to get whatever my original thing i needed was (hmm... what was it...? no idea), as well as a new heater, test kit, and if this is algae, an algae control substance. Its slimy and will scrape off with finger, blows in current of filter. Thanks for any help you guys can give me. If its not algae i dont want to buy the algae stuff because then it will kill the green and brown algae that my snails and pleco eat as well. Cant get a picture of it, its too small. It makes my water seem to look cloudy but then you realize its just dirty glass and once some is scraped off you see my crystal clear water past it.

by the way, i have no live plants in my aquarium, because ive been told goldfish would eat them and the loaches would uproot them. only fake life-like ones.

Its back! I still dont know what it is. My camera cant get a pic. Its like a fuzzy layer of slimy wavy white things on fake plants, all ornaments, walls, and filter tube. Only a few mms long. Annoying stuff clogs my filter.
