A new LFS....Horrible Fish, wonderful prices...

So I went to petsmart/co and they did not have the kH test kit, so I went to another little shop called Pet Ranch. All of the fish had ich, they were crammed into 2 gallon tanks, like 20 Tiger Barbs to a tank... grr....

Any who, they had the test kit, and I got a Hagen kH and gH test kit for 5 bucks. They also had NLS fish food for 5 bucks... I think when I get paid, Ill buy a jar and see what all the fuss is.... is that a good deal??

5 bucks seems about right, but fish guy would know better. It has been to long since I have bought any.

Well, if you're lucky he'll clean up like ours did. We have one in the nearby shopping mall and when we first went there all the fish were sick, loaded with ick. But is was close and when you only need a can of flakes or a couple of airstones, I don't feel like going a long ways.

Then, all of a sudden, we go there and most of the tanks have no fish and half don't even have water. We figure they're closing down the fishy section. Well apparently, they cleaned out the system, sterilized everything and now, the fish are healthy and there is barely any ick visible.:19:

Keep an eye on the place, encourage them to clean up and upgrade their systems, and if they do, reward them with your business.

I paid 14 bucks for a very small container of New Life Spectrum....stock up at that price! It's very hard to even find it around here, and right after I paid 14 bucks for it, they decided to stop carrying it because it didn't sell very well (probably because of the price) and they clearanced a bunch for like a buck....man, I missed that sale.....

Cheapest I have found for the smallest container they had was like 8$.

Its $10 for the small size "small fish" formula at our LFS. That's the cheapest one they carry. Sound's like you got a deal, Bill!
