Ok, so again posting and asking for my mom. She has a ten gal tank that is over run with algae now. Plus always has a yellow color to it no matter how often or well cleaned it is. Even before algae 'showed up'. She needs to know what would be best in that 10 gal for control because most of the eaters around here are Chinese algae eaters and they'd be too big and aggressive. Although the ones that her and I have in other tanks are pretty nice to the other fish. But that's OT. I've heard of using moss balls but not sure if they really work.

Does the water have yellow color or is the algae yellow(Im not sure if there is yellow algae) if it's the water that's yellow do you have driftwood?

Yellow color is water only. Green algae on glass. No driftwood. Just a bubbler (clam shell) and some plastic plants.
