here's some updated pics of the pond. our sunken pots will need to all be upgraded next year because they are packed full of plants. hopefully more vegetation next season. inhabitants are 9 goldfish/koi, about 50 emerald back minnows, one yellow perch, some crayfish, some bullfrogs, and a baby snapping turtle. the bucket-filter is still working great!

I just noticed that it looks like we use the same pond additives (first pic bottom left hand corner)

Actually Crispy my pond looks quite crappy right now. I never got a handle on getting enough filter material in the skimmer,I lost a shade tree last year as well and my uv clarifier cant keep up with the green water. My lilys did not survive my attempt at repotting them so I went from having 2 that looked great to 5 empty pots after I seperated them:hmm3grin2orange: My fish are doing fine despite all this,I however am disgusted :scry:

Cliff: Thats a good beginners additive but tequilla gives much faster results,,,,,,,,with acceptance.

dang, that sucks smaug. at least your fish are fine though.

we thought our vegetation would've grown a bit better also, but their pots are too small. will definitely be upgrading for next year. not much of an algae problem, even without any uv sterilizer. had a bit of foam for awhile, but it went away. all and all it's where we want it, just want lots more aquatic plant growth next season.

Very nice. In the top picture, your golfer looks like he's taking a swing at your bottle of Bud.

thanks again for the kind comments all! much appreciated!

WT> yeah, the view is alright, it's a good half hour from the city and farmland everywhere. it's a nice getaway and I go visit the pond once a week at least. lots of wildlife out there. :fish:

hopefully every season the pond only gets better and better. my parents have really fallen in love with it. :ssmile:
