I was wondering if there were any small fish. say ten gallon compatable. that would pair up if they were the only fish in the tank, or with something small.

Betta, endlers, paradise fish, guppies (and many other livebearers) plus many other fish will breed in a 10 gallon but then what???

They don't necessarily have to breed, because I know certain fish need certain
conditions to breed and that some will just eat the young. And I have another
tank to house fry if need be. So that shouldn't be a problem.
And it doesn't have to be a male female pair either. A same sex pair would work.
Just wondering.

Many spawn constantly like tetra's but neons and cardinals are not easily breed. Most others are. Cherry Barbs also spawn all the time as well as the rasbora I have.
But most eat their own eggs the minute they drop them so you should put a pair in that extra tank you have and after they spawn, remove the adults. Or get a pair of guppies.
