Everyone kept telling me firemouths are hit or miss, so I tried one. It harassed my other fish relentlessly so I tried another one, gave it a week, same thing happened. So I gave that one back too. I was ready to stop trying when a few weeks later I found this guy. Not only is he gorgeous but he is very well behaved. I think hes a keeper.

They are nice fish. Thinking of getting some again myself. These I had a couple years ago. Males and females squaring off. All show and no go.

Very nice! Mine is bossy when there's food around, but he doesn't do any harm. Otherwise he keeps to himself.

They really don't get into big fights. Just a lot of puffing up at each other and postering. But they sure have a lot of babies.

That's why I only got 1 lol. I think my 75 is a wee overstocked, I may have to rehome a couple fishies, but I can't decide which ones. It'll work for now but once they get bigger some may have to go. I have angels, the firemouth, a baby jellybean that I raised, cories and an assortment of geos, I couldn't make up my mind which ones I liked better....I think I may rehome my jurupari, they are a little on the aggressive side. But the firemouth stays for sure.
