Hi,
Just got 2 Zebra Nerite Snails. Want to put them in my 75g tank, but i know i have to quarantine them. So how do i quarantine them, for how long, what do i look for, whats needed in the quarantine as a minimum, and in what size tank as a min for these 2 snails. I guess no meds of any kind, but then, how will i know?

About the only thing to look for is to see if they live or die really.I dont know about any diseases a snail would bring in that would be transferred to fish,at least not that would affect the snail. 2 to 3 weeks should clear anything from on or in it.For 2 snails ,a big vase and daily water changes should suffice.

Nerite are Semi-Aquatic, plus if given slightly saltish (brackish) water will self reproduce. I didn't quarantine mine, as I trusted the shop. No issues. If quarantine, be aware they will sometimes leave the tank, or container if find a big enough hole.

Zebras seem to be pretty hardy, i have one as a friend for my Tiger Nerite. They both like to go in filter and try other methods of escape, but surprisingly only place i havent found em yet is outside of tank. They may crawl onto inside of hood, and sometimes over top of tank to get in filter, but never out back of tank and down glass. I guess they know that waters harder to get outside. I didnt acclimate mine, they were fine. I never have to feed mine, they eat algae in small enough amounts that the tim=ny snails cant keep up with 4 walls of algae. Clean off front and sides with brush and still they dont starve. Amazing. Also very sturdy shells. Ive dropped mine down 18" to bottom on hard gravel with no problem, they went through filter impeller once with only minor cracks, and they dealt with betta for 1.5 months who insisted they were toys and smashed into them all day with enough force to slide them across side of tank. Never broke. Very nice snails.
