My name is Chris and I'm completely new to the fish world (except for a little 5 gallon tank I had as a teenager that couldn't seem to keep fish alive in).

Fastforward to now, age 30, and I'm taking a more cautious approach to getting back into the fish game. Luckily I have a brother in law who knows a ton about this stuff so I feel I'm already better off than before.

The site has a lot of good info to read and research so off I go...

Chris

Welcome to the forum - good people, good information and good fun here!

You're from Lubbock?
Seen any "Lubbock Lights" lately, or is that just the USAAF testing new planes?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I've researched the site for the past couple hours and have some of the basics down... I tested the waters with what kind of fish to go with and realized that'll take a lot longer to get my hands around. I may have to break down and.... ask :sconfused:

Nick - You've heard of the "Lubbock Lights"? Normally, the only time people have heard of Lubbock is if they're a Bobby Knight or Buddy Holly fan. I wish the lights had happened more than once because I missed seeing them. Wait... maybe I'm glad they haven't shown back up. lol

As a child and teen I was interested in UFO's, and still have an old book that had 2 black and white photos of Lubbock Lights.

Mercifully, Australia does have some UFO action, but of course, it's nowhere near as "hyped" or as well-documented as it seems to be in the US.
