Hi everybody.my 2 ryukin males started chasing the female (very brutal to watch :ssuprised: ) first thing tuesday morning, which was complete suprise and caught me off guard.so had to think fast and put the spawning mop in (home made from wool) in the tank asap, straight away she laid eggs in the mop, they did their stuff and straight away they started eating the eggs so took mop out and put it into a 20ltr acrylic tank that we had,i filled the tank with water out the 4ft tank, but only about 4 1/2" .very gently shook the mop and all the eggs dropped on to bottom of the tank.thursday morning took out all the white non fertilised eggs and within 4 hours the fertilised eggs started hatchin, put a small air stone in to give them oxygen etc,but they seem to last for a few hours then die,is this normal ie:do lots die before just the strongest survive.checked water and its nearly perfect, temp is 70.what else am i doing wrong!! thanks in advance..
