I am writing up several species profiles of fish that i have had experiance with/currently have. These profiles will be added to the Tropical Fish Species database on our very own website. The only problem is, i dont have pictures of them, and my camera isnt exactly top of the line. You donation of picutres of the following fish will be greatly apreciated:

Red tailed shark (not rainbow shark, or red finned shark)(done)
Dwarf Puffer
Bumblebee Catfish (not goby)
Albino corydora(done)
Upside down catfish
Bumblebee Cichlid

SALTWATER
Clown goby
Camel shrimp

More will come as soon as i have the time to do so.

Thankyou for your participation.

Drum...I got your PM, but unfortunately don't have any of these fish in my tanks.

Hope you can find someone who does or if you want to ship me some of those fish and provide habitats, I'm sure we could get some photos for you :ezpi_wink1:

Haha, you wish.

I could get one off of the net, but id have to email for permission, and all that stuff. Plus the fact that i would like to keep it in the family, so to speak.

Ive already finished and emailed one profile off to william today, and i should have quite a few more done by the end of the month.

I will have to dig in my archives, but I might have a picture of a red-tailed shark.

Take your camera to the LFS and tell them you want to take a few picks to see if the fish will look good in your aquarium LOL

If you take pictures from a private person, such as a photo album, then you have to get permission. I do believe it's safe to take from the net as long as you give credit to where you've found it.

Pretty sure you still need permission, unless they are royalty free.

As a reference librarian and AV librarian, I know a bit about copyright.

Stuff on the 'Net IS NOT FREE unless explicitly stated. Everyone automatically gets copyright worldwide on what they put on their websites that is their own.

So, yes, you should always seek permission first.
If you get no answer, then unfortunately that copyright still exists until the author dies and 70 years passes.

This is thanks to the efforts of certain US corporations and estates who keep increasing the duration after death that copyright lasts. They are protecting their own items so that the public can never freely use them.

The auther dying or the 70 years, thats where the loyalty free comes in, is that right, also, is there a clause where the copyrite may pass on to another family member?

That is exactly like the wild eeltail catfish in our local dam, only they are coloured dark grey to black.

Copyright currently lasts for the life of the author, and then for seventy more years after their death.

So if I die in 2 years time (2009), then I have copyright while i'm alive and then all the way until 2079.

Now, certain US businesses want to extend this AGAIN. They already got this extended from death +50 years about 15 years ago to the current period of death + 70 years. So, in about 5 years, they will agitate to have this extended to death + 90-100 years.

So, please, fight against copyright changes like this!
It isn't helping anyone, just protecting a few big US businesses.

Male showing belly line

Any Missy showing off her goatee, which I think might be a common trait for dominant females as my less dominant female never showed one.

My camera kept focusing on the stupid heater - if you ever do an article about the 200 watt stealth (maybe I don't remember) heater I've got some dandy shots of that!

Also the sharks in my office tank are red tails - Ill get some shots this afternoon
