Stock My Tank!

Ok so everyone who can read knows i have a 25g with 2 hujeta gars, 2 tinfoil barbs as the only fish in that tank. The guy at the lfs lent me 2 algea eaters. He wanted them fattened, i wanted to see into the tank, win-win. I also got this nice VERY GREEN plant. I planted the plant with a fertilizer stick, acclimated the algea eaters and added a few hiding spots for them. Heres an idea I got :


Why not add a few more tall plants in the back, a few 3-4 inch big ones in the front, and get rid of the fish!

Ok so now lets pretend like i only have 1 snail and 2 shrimps in my 25g with a bunch of nice looking plants with a nice piece of driftwood in the middle.

I was thinking i could redo my fish list in that tank.

Here is a list of all the nice fish that i may want....you can choose from the list the fish and the number of fish you want of each species.

Neon Tetra - I don't care for Neons, I love Cardinals
Clown loach - Need at least 5 and a 6' long tank so No Way
Sailfin Molly- Never kept them, but nice fish
Corydoras- definate yes, 5
Algea eater- Only Ottos so yes, 5
Male Dwarf Gourami- No, well maybe
Rummy nose tetra- Yes, beatiful fish 7
Buenos Aires Tetra- No
Kribensis- If I did I would eliminate all others and have a spawning pair
Betta- No
Danios- Only if I need dithers
common pleco- No, too big
Opaline Gourami- No
Angelfish- possibly, a pair

I only say this because it is similar to my setup.

and I plan on getting 5 corys 2 morow.

Sailfins prefer brackish and even like saltwater water setups. So you'd have to have a brackish tank with a pair or 1 male to 2 females.

Some live live in freshwater in the wild, but are healthier in brackish.

I agree with Zackish and Spyder on the corys, they are fun to watch with a bunch of them. Get at least 4. There are also a lot of cool varieties to choose from.

Another option would be to get one of the mini corys (like the panda), and you could get like 8 of them.

Neon Tetra -Nah, get cadinals, but i really don't care much for either though :/
Clown loach -No, It gets too big and needs to be in a school.
Sailfin Molly-I believe it needs to be in brackish waters so a no-no for planted tanks.
Corydoras-These are fun fish! I say yes. get at least 5.
Algea eater-Ottos maybe?
Male Dwarf Gourami-I have had nothing but problems with gouramis, but one would be suitable for your tank.
Rummy nose tetra-Yes, These are nice looking.
Buenos Aires Tetra-Same as above
Kribensis-I think you could keep a pair in there if you wanted. The would look great with the plants.
Betta-Why?
Danios-they are fun fish that add life to any tank, but most think they are ugly, so your opionnion.
common pleco-It gets too big.
Angelfish-Hmmm, I'm not sure. Someone else casn answer this one.
