View Full Version : Fiddlers mating!

My male fiddler has never had much luck with the ladies.

But today a couple things happened...I noticed that the larger female had her egg flap open, which I thought was weird. Later I did a water change. And afterwards the male did a rather enthusiastic dance. Then about a half hour later, I saw them mating! (awkward....)

Since this is my first time keeping fiddlers, I am not really sure what to expect. I have heard that crabs cannot reproduce in captivity, so I guess when the larvae hatch, they will just die?

I also have a minnow in there, so maybe it will eat them? I am not sure what happens now.

But its pretty interesting.
