ive been wanting to start breeding guppys, and i have all of the equiptment needed, but whenever the thought of having to cull then comes to mind, it makes me feel really mean. is there any, more humane way to do this, because after all, they are alive, and they do feel pain.

Many people will put them in the freezer, which is considered a humane way to euthanize fish.

If you feed them to any fish larger than an adult guppy, they will be dead in less than a second and they wont have died in vain.

Depends on your betta, I tried giving mine some platy and swordtail fry and he wouldn't eat them at all.

A large container of water with ice cubes is sufficient.
A successful breeder of good quality fish can not be too sentimental about fry. I'd be happy to have culls from any show guppy breeder, but they won't let them go as it would dilute their efforts.

Many angle fish breeders keep Oscars or another good size cichlid, just for fry disposal. Life has to eat something.

I cull as dbosman does. The shock from the cold is instant.

I cull using angelfish. My platy fry I feed to my angelfish as a snack so to speak. Culling is nothing to be ashamed of, It is nature.

+1 to the above posts I also feed my guppy fry to my angelfish. I know it sounds mean but its what happens in nature as mentioned above. Plus in a way culling is doing a favour, deformed fish will only just suffer and die more painfully if keepers wont intervien.
