well, there is no 'fishing' subforum so I guess I'll put it here...
summertime here means lots of fishing and this year has been good to us so far... 240 yellow perch last sunday and 94 perch yesterday for a total of 36 pounds of fillets...
here's some of our catch...

we used to get hauls like that on Lake Huron when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago. These days it's a lot harder to find them. The same goes for any other fish in the lake, too... salmon, walleye, you name it.

Wow, I can't fish to save my life! I only ever caught a snapping turtle in a lake, and when I went striped bass fishing, I had absolutely no luck. Any tips?
I'm sure with a good fire and some friends- they would be delicious!

I have some great memorys of catching perch from our boat at local lake. When I was a kid I thought there had to be something special about a fish that was colored like them. Nice catch,Im so jealous.

You got a nice haul there Crispy
Those pics remind me of ice fishing back home. We used to catch a lot of perch each winter out on the ice.

Perch are an under rated tasting fish. we just can't catch enough large ones to make a good fish fry.

Thats a lot of filleting there. Perch are a delicious fish but all that work cleaning them makes me put them back.
The last time I saw so many caught was ice fishing in Lake Simcoe.

Agreed I will only keep them if they as fat enough to get a good amount of meat.

my fingers hurt just looking at those pics >_<
i like catching perch but i have cleaning part. last time it was my job to scale them, my fingers started to hurt then went numb for a few days. we had 12 perch, but they were all big buggers. and the big ones are harder to scale then smaller ones.
very nice catch by the way.

Thats a whole lotta perch.
Mean little buggers, I usually only catch 2-3" guys, and usually its on a 7" worm.
