What web browser are you using? It's working for me with Firefox.

I might have accidentally loaded IE9 yesterday (while updating other stuff on my laptop for work)...but I'm not switching from IE - even if I should.

I guess I'll have to reset something (cookie) if that's what it is...

Anyone know how?

It's only this site...other sites are fine.

I've heard of others having the same problem with IE9. I have the same problem when I use our new PC with IE9

Hopfully, microsoft will come out with a up-date for that soon

I think it's a huge conspiracy Rue. William has conspired to take away the post button from you!

You can google "IE9 new posts" and you'll find a lot of posts complaining about it. It seems to be something with the vbulletin version used by this site.

I have tried deleting cookies and clearing everything I could think of and nothing worked. I eventually rolled back to IE8.

The new post button does not work on this site if you are using IE9

I upgraded from ff4 to 5 today. Doesn't seem any different. Has some new tabbing feature that looks promising.

Hm...well, looks like I'm stuck. I'm not good enough to muck about with settings...I always make things worse.

I shouldn't have switched over I suppose, but I had to do all these other updates and didn't think about it...*argh*

Maybe the PTB are trying to tell me I post too much?:hmm3grin2orange:

...regardless of my posting addiction...I miss the new posts button...I have no idea what's happening throughout the forum without it...

Gonna have to change browsers maybe?

I was always curious as to why the toolbar menu is different when using different browsers. I would think it should be the same regardless of what browser you are using.

Google Chrome:
* User CP* *FAQ* * Members List* *Search* *New Posts * *Mark Forums Read* *Open Buddy List *Log Out*

Firefox:
* User CP* *FAQ* *Members List* *New Posts* *Search* *Blogs * *shop Menu * *Quick Links* *Log Out*

Lol, I think William is perfectly demonstrating the usefulness of IE . . . Or rather --> That it isn't.

IE8 for me and works fine.

It's very annoying actually...I can't keep up with all the new posts like I normally do...

But this is the only forum I'm having issues with...so I'm leaving IE9 in place...I have to stay current with the new work I'm doing.

As Cliff said, hopefully MS comes up with a fix soon.

Rue why not install firefox as well.
That"s what I did. I use firefox for when I want to view this sight and IE9 for everything else.

There has been many problems with the IE9 so I've stayed away from it. I have read that all previous updates need to be done such as update 8 plus all 3 of the patches before 9 is installed. Also read that XP is not compatible with IE9 and that XP Users should not install it.

I would simply uninstall it. If it worked fine prior to it, no need for it. You can simply uninstall it from the add/remove program.

I tried firefox only once. The colored User Names here were all a big colored blob and I tried for 3 hours to get the spell checker to work. By then I was fed up and went back to IE. No patience for computer problems!

I'm not the greatest at trouble-shooting little problems either - tiny problems take me eons to figure out (my recent printer issues being a case in point)...I'd be worried about Firefox.

I have Vista on my laptop and Windows 7 on the netbook...so I think I'll stick it out...

I have no other problems at all with IE9. Just this forum and FB games (mind you GC plays up on FB at times). Other than those glitches, i love IE9, work brilliantly

Rue

Yes, me too...just this forum...otherwise I have no complaints...

...and that's what I did...accidentally loaded the 9 when I did all my upgrades...
