So will different species of cory cats still shoal together? I have 3 pandas but I was thinking of adding some of a different species when I get my new 20g set up and running for a while.

I have several species mixed in my large tank - they all hang out but don't seem to be quite as tightly knit as the single species groups that I keep in my other tanks.

Other folks may have had different results though

A. they might be a little confused by the markings and such
B. you will have more success if you make sure they are genus Corydras (ie NOT Brochis splendens/Emerald Green Cory Cat)

I have peppered and some just plain looking ones together and they do well and hang out together. My albinos when they were with them didn't stay by them but stayed in there own group or none at all.

We had 2 peppered corys in my 10g before i sold them, and we added 3 albino cories, and they schooled like nobodies business.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I would just add more of the same species.

I have 3 different varieties of corys in one of the 40 gallon long tanks, 3 pairs of 3. They usually keep to their own kind in my particular situation.

IDK about corys but something that is neat is the H.rasboras I just added yesturday school in with my cardinals like they are the exact same fish. From the second I put the Rasboras in they stuck around with the cardinals and schooled with them.
