Im trying to add some music to some fish videos i took, and windows movie maker doesnt recognise them. They are saved as Quicktime files, do they need to be windows media player files?
Thanks.

I'm not sure, but this is what I dug up in the help index of my windows movie maker....
Supported file types
You can add content to your Windows Movie Maker project either by capturing content directly in Windows Movie Maker or by importing existing digital media files. The content you capture in Windows Movie Maker is saved in Windows Media Format. However, you can also import existing Windows Media-based content as well as other common file formats.
You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:
Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma
Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf
Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

Ahh, thankyou.
I guess that is my problem.
New question, How do i convert a quicktime file into one of the useable formats?
I tried to do the "save as" thing, but it wont let you do that unless you pay for quicktime pro.

Apple and Microsoft both want everyone to use their format (Quicktime & WMV/WMA) so they always make sure you need to convert each others audio and video files before you can use them on the other. Its a real pain!

Oh I just read also that it doesn't support quicktime audio or real media...but dunno if thats true, just read it on some website.

What type of audio are you using? If you've got the names of the music you could do the "google trick" and download the music free, but find it under the right extension.

Its not the audio im having trouble with, its the video. WMM wont recognise it as a file. When you hit browse to go find it, it doesnt even show up in "my videos" where i saved it.
