What is this stuff? I've never had anything like this and keep wiping it off daily.

Is this the P stiff I hear you talk about here sometimes? Don't know how to spell it.

It's darned ugly whatever it is and almost as ugly as that java fern next to it. LOL

This one has a good photo of planaria on glass you can use to compare

Did you forget to add the photo? What's funny about this is that I just upgraded the filter to a penguin 350 on this 20 gallon tank. If this is what you get with plants, I don't think I want any.

The website I just added has a photo of them about halfway down

They are completely harmless - if they came in on plants just skip a few days feeding that tank - they will starve and your fish will probably eat the ones that don't

These look like tiny hairs is all and they're all attached to the glass......everywhere. Smaller than an eyelash and white. Great.

Is that what it is you think? Perhaps a black out of the tank would help?

No...they're animals, a bit of dark won't hurt them...

I did take advice from others...I vacummed the gravel, and then dramatically cut down on the feeding for a few days...

Dunno if it helped or not...but they ran their course quickly!

This is my planted tank so I haven't been cleaning the gravel in that one so I don't suck up the ferts. The gravel is pretty deep, tho, as some of the plants had a bigger root system. I do weekly water changes and suck off the top of the gravel for uneaten food.

Darned angels just spawned in this tank a couple hours ago so now I can't do anything about it right now. Why don't the fish eat this stuff?

Anyway, whatever I have doesn't look like worms. They aren't crawling......just there, stuck to the glass.

I think its algae, i got some of that when i put in the plants, and plants trigger algae since they need light.

I think you may be right. This is only on the front of the glass and it's also the only side that keeps getting brown algae. It would be odd I think if it's a worm that it would only be on one side.

If they were worms, the fish would eat them for supper. It's algae. I think im pretty sure.

Hobbs, do you have pleco's in your tank? After i took out my plecos i started noticing the algae. And i thought plecos were over rated lol.

Thanks for nice pic Robbie but no, that's not it. Yours are worms.....mine are hairs. I keep my tanks really clean so guess that's why I was so shocked to see this stuff. I think with also getting some brown algae I'm probably about to see the tank become a mess.

I would have been shocked if you had gotten it myself - is there any green at all in it?
