Caught this little fellow a few weeks ago and hes finally come out of QT. Hes settling in quite nicely.

You wouldnt believe the muddy little waterhole he was living in. His fins were in bad shape when I caught him but they are healing nicely.

Wow, that's really cool!! Living in Canada that's not a possibility. Have to release or eat the fish we catch out here. Never even thought about this when getting into fish keeping. Would be cool to have a tank with our local fish, trout, walleye, pike etc... Very impressive and intriguing!!

Ive actually been considering an acara when I redo my tank, are they diggers?

Mine never really dug a lot. They do like clearing a small spot in the substrate when breeding but thats managable enough. If you provide a small tile, they may use that instead
