View Full Version : Just Wondering
Whats the likeliness of a gourami being able to display a variety at colors almost seemingly at will? It seems as though my gourami has been changing from golden to green to shades of blue and more often than not has what i can only describe as stripes from tail to mouth. One one side it has the three spots, but the other has none. Just thought it was a little interesting to see. Have to keep him or her alone until i get a new tank because my betta decided to go from friendly to overly aggressive last time i put them together after doing a complete water change.

also different type of light can cause them to change color to!!
Well for it there are only two light sources, one from the main room light, and one from the aquarium's light i have it right next to. The light sources dont vary any yet the thing still displays different colors. Its usually keeping the striped pattern and the 3 spots on one side, none on the other, usually the color is the only variation. Either way its cool.

also if he mad, scare or ready to mate. that can cause then to turn color to!
He seems generally happy. Guess he does it out of response to my presense. Ive read its best to keep them in groups of 3 or more yet he seems rather pleased with being solitary at the moment.

Most fish can change color/pattern depending on their mood to some degree.
