Recently I got myself a Powder Blue Gourami and introduced it into my 29 gallon tank. All I had in it were a couple of mollies. Now there is one black mollie in particular that just won't leave the gourami alone. He chases him and makes him stay near the top of the tank.
Are mollies and gouramis not compatible fish or is some other factor making the molly aggressive?

He is probably "marking his turf" I'd try moving the decorations around a bit to change the territories up (that sometimes helps with that sort of thing). The molly probably won't be large enough to chase the powder blue for too much longer though!

its definitely a turf issue. i tried puting my auratus in my other african tank and strangely the other africans allowed the auratus (even platys are in the african tank, the africans are passive), and the auratus immediately picked fights

I had mollies and hated them. Had the same problem with them. I think they were getting ready to mate so everything else was fair game to them. I ended getting rid of them just to bring some peace to the tank.

Fish is their other life were pit bulls.

Hehe, i kinda hate molly's too, waiting for them to die in my livebearers tank ;p They look soo simple, especially the white ones.
