Still trying to get the hang of this resizing business -- got three of the above too small to view well when enlarged, so here they are again, much easier to see in enlarged form, PLUS an interesting diagonal full-tank shot.

Thanks, Rue. Glad you enjoy...

nice loaches. do you have a full tank shot of that setup? :fish:

That diagonal shot above is the full-tank view.

Below, meet "Dino", a rather friendly sea monster. I love fantasy scapings!

Enjoy ...

Cute! How do you keep them so clean?

05-11-2011, 07:15 PM
They pretty much stay clean on their own. They usually don't stay in the tank long enough to get really dirty, as I like to rescape often. "Dino" had only been in there for a couple of weeks. I change out my decor fairly regularly. The only things that stay in there permanently are the live plants, gravel, airstone, and of course, the critters (and the filter tubes and prefilter sponge, naturally).

The only diatoms I have appear on the tank glass but don't coat anything else, except for very small patches on the leaves of the silk plants which are in the brightest area. I scrub those off with a toothbrush.

Nothing really gets that dirty in my tank. The inside of the lid gets kind of scuzzy, and I scrub it when I vacuum the gravel.

Cute fish!

What are those lime green fish though?

The greenish yellow ones are glofish danios. Not dyed, but genetically altered zebra danios. Looking closely, you can even see the horizontal striping along their bodies.
