Nice pick.

Given your collection. How badly would you want a Cuban Gar???

Very handsome monster you have there. I'm thoroughly envious of your tanks.

Thanks all! He's definitely one of the center pieces of my collection.

William - I have had the chance to get a Cuban, but they have much different requirements than most other Gar species. I may try them in the future though (if my source still has them).

Thanks! I got this fish from Mike @ H2O Custom Aquatics out of NY. This gar was from the second importation EVER of Tropical Gar. I believe there were less than 75 of these fish in the states at the time and still probably less than 200 now.

Here is his link...Great guy!

Thanks guys. This fish is about 5 years old...We raised him from about 4-5 inches. He is now stuck at around 20" and does not appear to be doing much more growing. The crazy part is that he grew from 4" to 16" in the first year! Then slowed down considerably.

Jordan. How big pond would you set up to house a group of these?

I see them in the rivers around here and is tempted to setup a pond with them.
