I like that substrate! It looks like crushed coral, is that correct?

The tank looks amazing!

Duhhhh, i feel stupid. Your pH is 6.8. Crushed coral would raise it, unless you had a really low pH to begin with.

It looks nice. It gives great contrast to the fish.

You sure take some awesome shots. You should upload them all to photobucket so they can be viewed as a slideshow. Then I can just sit and drool all day.

About the featherfins in your POTM. I didn't think I'd like these rainbows but now that I see yours............gotta have em'. How many could go in my 30 gallon comfortably, you think.

Thank you Lady Hobbs, the Featherfins (Iriatherina werneri) are very beautiful active fish. I have mine in a 40 and they are great tank mates for Rams, Corys and Endlers (that's the tank mates I have). I have 12, if I could find more I would add. In a 30 I would have 18 with a 1m/2f ratio. They are very small and create very little bio load. With the large number you could have them alone, add Java Moss to the bottom and have them spawn. A thought I've had for a long time, just never got around to it. Keep them in a very NON-agressive tank, they are the least agressive fish I've ever seen, exept to each other. Have you ever seen them flare at each other? Of note: I had many problems with them at first, Gary Lang suggested feeding them BBS daily. Since then I have had great success keeping them. I feed frozen BBS ever morning and they are thriving.

They are beautiful fish even just as a blur they caught my eye. I bet they are just striking in person.
Oh and the tank is just beautiful too! I too love the gravel.

12 Redline Torpedo Barbs (Denisons)
5 Congo Tetras (2m/3f)

How are these two species co-existing?
Redline Torpedo Barbs are beautiful, as is your tank.
Anyone have any experiences with these?
