View Full Version : OSCAR Loosing Its Skin

Hello Everybody ,
I ve got a Tank with around 6 Parrot fishes and 4 Oscars ...One of the Oscars has been loosing its skin (black) and its fins and now its color is Close to Grey ,so i had to remove it from the tank and put it in a Bowl and put salt and (blue liquid medicin) for the last month and it seemed to get better ,i mean she has better reflex now and doesnt look ill but its still loosing its skin ...what should i do and whats happinin to it ,should i move it back to the Tank ?

P.S :i lost an OSCAR for the same causes 6 months ago (but didnt treat it like this one)

What size tank are all those fish in? Two Oscars should be in "at least" a 75 gallon and preferrably a 100 gallon.

It sounds like a bacterial infection. Oscars are dirty fish and need their gravel cleaned and BIG, REGULAR water changes. With that many fish in a tank, you need to do water changes even more often and have very, very good filtration.

Thanks for replyin...My Tank is a 380 litres (around 100 galons)...so whats the cure ? and should i put it in the Tank again ?

If you can separate to treat, then do so. But if any of the others appear to have the same problem, then treat the whole tank.

well ive already done that...it looks healthy now ,but it dont have the same color anymore...and its been over a month seperated...should i put it back in the tank ? and what kind of filtration should i use ?
