Just a quick question. I'm going the planted route for my 10 gallon, however, all the light fixtures I see (t8 shop lights) are way to long compared to a 10 gallon. I was thinking one of the circular shop lamp things but then it is hard to find a fluorescent bulb for that.

Anyone know if they make short t8s that aren't listed online?

Edit: nevermind lol

If you have a 10g with a stock hood, you can put 2 fluorescent bulbs into it. Should get around 2-3 watts per gallon which would work well enough.

Just have the tank. Going probably get a work lamp with a 40 watt bulb in order to grow everything well.

Be careful too much light and you will have algae and other issues. With that much wattage you'll want to have another source of carbon.

For a 10g tank, an incandescent strip or hood with two Sylvania "now smaller than ever" 23 watt daylight spiral compact bulbs, is perfect.
