As I was watching my 30 gallon today I noticed that there was a small snail on the driftwood that must have hitch hiked in on a plant. What are y'alls opinions on what to do with a hitch hiker? This snail had a curly shell, I didn't get a picture but next time I see him I will try to.

You could catch it, crush it, and feed it to your fish. Is it just one, or are there more?

I have only seen one but there is a lot of ground cover in the tank. Mainly I don't want harm to come to my fish and tank as a whole so I was curious what the advice of more advanced keepers was.

They won't harm anything. They are nothing to be worries about. They are however unsightly and many people remove them for this reason.
If removal is what you were wanting to do the easiest way is to place a slice of zucchini in the tank overnight, weighted down, and you may find you have more than one in there in the morning.

I'd squish it and feed it to your fish. You'll also need to be careful not to overfeed your fish as the snails will multiply quickly if there is any excess food in the tank.
I've tried the zucchini trick but it didn't work for me.

I personally like having snails in my tank. I have 3 different types in there right now, all of which were hitchhikers. As long as you don't overfeed, the population will stay to a minimum.
