Hello everyone just a few questions for anyone out there.Woke up this morning and notice eggs on one of my leafed plants.I have done alot of reading about raising them artificially. Was wondering if this method would work just as well.I have a fry net that hangs on the side of my tank.Would I be able to place the net just off to the side of the airstone bubbles for water movement and place the eggs in that net?The parents seem to be caring for the eggs very well so far.Warding off any curious intruders in there territory aswell as getting rid of the unfertilized eggs.Juts concerned about one of those intruders getting threw.Any opinions appreciatedthumbs2:

Looks like she has only about 20 fertilized eggs on the leaf, the fry net is fairly large aswell that they would be put in

I would leave them there for now. The parents are caring for them and defending them so why not? They have spawned once and are likely to do it again so dont worry about this first batch but use this as a great learning opportunity. It you take the eggs and move them, one; you will have to care for them and two (doesnt happen often but with cichlids I've seen it), one of the pair will think the other is to blame for the loss. A mated pair is a valuable find. Let nature take it's course is my thought.

Hey thanks for the advice.I decided to leave them alone but my delinquent blue ram decided to have a meal.He was the only one in the tank interested in the eggs he just would not give up.He didn't even care about being nipped he got to the point where he just took it wouldn't even get scared away.

Sorry to hear that. I should have asked about the other fish in the tank. I assumed they were of a small variety. (blush)
