Hi, well today is the big day, my fishless cycle finished last night and after adding more ammonia ilast night my ammonia this morning is 0.0 pmm, my nitrites are 0.00 pmm and my Nitrates are between 10 and 20 pmm. By the way I did a large water change last night.

I am now on my way to the lfs to buy a group of Corys. Is there any type of conditioner or anything that I should add to the water at the same time as I add the fish.:fish: :fish:

What water conditioner are you using with your water changes? If your using something like Prime or Top Fin already then your tank will already contain what you need.
The Nitrates at 10-20 are about max for what you want. Keep that under control when adding new stock. It may increase fairly quick in a new stocked tank.
Are you planning on any live plants? These will assist with your Nitrates.

Thanks for the input.
Yes I used Prime for my water changes and I have only just planted my tank (has not had a chance to grow yet)
I will be checking my water daily for the first while and will probably do another one or two 20% changes in the next couple of days.

It sounds like you have it covered halfcent. Good luck with the new tank.:19:

One critical point - don't over stock to start - the bio-filter is just starting up and the growth will take some time to "catch up" to a lot of fish if you overload. Start with a few fish and after two weeks, add more. As such, watch for spikes, especially nitrite since that is the slowest growing bacteria.

That said, great work and good luck!:hmm3grin2orange:

24 hours after putting 8 corydora Julii and 1 Betta in all is well and they seem very happy.
It really helped that I have a very good privately owned lfs store and that he only sells healthy fish. You pay a little more then the big box outlets but it is worth having someone with experience behind the counter.
I am checking the water every 12 hours and have done 1 small water change.Ammonia 0.0; Nitrite 0.0; Nitrate appprox. 10 pmm.

Halfcent I know what your going through with the pictures. I found it easier to get a free account at photobucket (this was suggested to me when I asked). It will resize your photos to the correct 800 p. You can than use the selection to "upload" from the net.

It is a 33 gal. tank. I also added a couple of baby Angel fish yesterday and all are doing really well.

Nice Pic's and a great job cycling - you are one great aquarium keeper. Keep up the good work. In another week you should know if the biofilter is keeping up with and supporting the stock. Good luck - :hmm3grin2orange:
