My male blue gourami when left in the dark for a long time has really dark blue colors to him but as soon as the light goes on it starts to fade into really dull blue colours is there a way off keeping the darker colors on him with the lights on

You could use floating plants to dimm the light, or created areas with dimmed light which might make him keep a darker color.

one time i sold the alot of blue gouramis , to one of the other pet shop. there was light blue in color,then i went somewhere elec. on my way home stop back in to that shop. look at the fish and he had some dark, dark blue gouramis. i said, i must have some of them, and where did you get them. he look at me, and said, i just got them, from you. i said no, how.

certain types of light will also cause them to looks light or darker!
