I did a big water change on sunday because my nitrogen was too high (fertilizer). I tested ph 6.8 - 7.4, KH 5, GH 5, ammonia 0.
Three of my seven discuss are dark, cloudy eyes, lost balance. I'm sure it has something to do w/the water change.
What can I do? I'm afraid I'm going to lose them!!

First, do no harm! That is, don't just add meds to just do something.

FIRST AND FORMOST - get extra air into the tank ASAP.

Check for ammonia/nitrites and that the temp is ok. I have done 90%+ WC and my discus didn't care - in fact, none do because that is normal OP! You used treated water (a de-chlorination chemical if required)? If not, you are in trouble but there are steps to do to help.

If the ferts did posioned them to some extent, then after you have done a few large WC (really - get those ferts out! if they caused the problem) you might want to add salt (1 tsp/gal) to help them get the nitrogen organics from their blood stream.

Again, lots of oxygen and don't turn the tank temp up, rather, lower it a little (down to 82 F, possibly 80F until they are less stressed - this allows more oxygen in the water.)

Remember, I am not there and I am guessing - use common sense and ignore any steps that seem unsafe or might cause harm. These are the steps I'd take BUT I am reading the info you give me, it might be something else.

Forgot - add charcoal big time to absorb the nitrogen componds, too - don't forget to remove iit after two days!

That said, air only helps and salt is a destressed discus' best friend.:hmm3grin2orange:

Hang in there and good luck! Others here might see somethin gI missed.
