I dont even know what IE I have, whatever one came with my windows vista program on my laptop. My main page is set for Goodsearch.com though so I can raise money for my local no-kill shelter....I think thats maybe why the version of my IE isn't showing up. I dunno...lol I typically just use aol, unless I dont want to sign on.

+1 for Firefox. i switched from IE years ago, and now i cant live without it. i will never use IE again. plus, IE7 is just a ripoff of other browers, namely FF. but then again, the Vista GUI is just a complete mishmash of pre-existing desktop eyecandy. so what can you expect from Mr. Gates.

but yeah, FF FTW w00t

you have IE7.
to find out your exact version number, go to:
Help > About Internet Explorer

you can do the same in any software to find out the version.

if you dont see the Menu bar in IE7, right-click somewhere in the top area and make sure Menu Bar has a checkmark next to it. then go to Help > About Internet Explorer.

Wow. This surprises me that so many use Firefox. I've heard of it, of course but didn't realize it was so popular.

How different is it? Will all my favorites and bookmarks all change and what about Incredimail? Does it support that?

Firefox is great. Incredimail is compatible. Firefox is more secure, more customizable, and more stable than most other browsers. You are able to import everything over from IE without any headache at all.

Firefox automatically blocks lots of popups, especially pop-up ads.
So, it's protecting you and your PC from lots of annoying little bits of unwanted code and programming getting put on your PC without your real permission.

Now, IE have also done this with IE 7, but it isn't as good in my experience (I am online 9 hours a day minimum, using both IE and Firefox at work, and just Firefox at home).

I use firefox both in linux and windows. I started using it back in the days when it was called Phoenix, then it was Firebird, then Firefox! I think it was copyright issues. It has gone through quite a few changes since then, and most of them I am content with (i have not gone elsewhere). But sometimes I miss my tiny memory profile browser :(.

I just downloaded FireFox and trying it now for the first time.

I don't see a lot of difference so far other than the color in my User Name is gone and my signature now has wee little print.

Other than that, no huge change so far.

I use Firefox except for those things that will only accept IE, like Windows update. I even talked our IT guy into installing Firefox onto my computers at work.
