For the second time in a month, my firemouth is planting eggs on the side of a rock in our tank. Last time, they were there for four days or so, they all of a sudden they were gone. Question is, should I move the other fish out of the tank for a week or so to give the fry a chance to hatch?

I would remove the pleco. Most likely the reason the eggs went missing was because he found them to be a tasty midninght snack. That will most probably continue as long as it remains in the tank. As long as your regularly cleaning your tank you dont need one anyway (not that they're good at it to start with) besides they just grow into big bulldozers that cause more problems. Remove the pleco and nature will take it's inevitable course with your Firemouths. Then you'll have to figure out what to do with all those baby firemouths lol.
