Hi,
I have a 9 Gallon aquarium which I setup yesterday and the water is still a little cloudy.
Is the cloud normal for this period of time?, will it eventually become clear?
Thank You
Dan
Do you wash your substrate thoroughly.

If you mean the Gravel?, no didn't wash :help:
That's the cause. Wash it until most of the cloudiness is gone.

Ok, so should I remove some water and re-add?

What all is in your tank? If its just water, then yes, just drain and rewash the gravel.. if not.. then just let it sit for a few days... it aught to clear up.....

Yeah I agree thats probably the problem....when I washed my gravel before putting it in my tank, the water draining out was really cloudy looking and the gravel felt really dusty coming out of the bag. Its pretty gross at first.

You don't need to remove the gravel. Just do a couple big water changes.
Will you be cycling the tank before adding any fish? You might want to save yourself a BUNCH of work and cycle first.

I think he has fish in it (read in another post). It could be a bacterial bloom since your tank is not cycled. You will have to do pwc's (partial water change) daily of about 30% to keep ammonia levels down, will prolong your cycle but will help to save your fishes.
