Whoa, cool. Insect larva, as a hitchhiker on a plant?

looks like a nymph to me kindof hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it may be dragonfly or mayfly

You're just gonna have to wait to see what crawls out of your tank and flies away!! :hmm3grin2orange:

agree with katze, either a dragonfly or mayfly larvae. which ever it is you need to get it out of your tank. it will kill and eat fish.

Look's like dragonfly larvae. Get it out of your tank. It's far from harmless.

Problem is I can't catch the thing, or even find it often enough.

There's only three fish in there anyways atm, old enough to go to their parent's tank. (The tank is usually just used as a snail and plant raiser.)

So I guess I'll just keep trying to catch it, move my fish over, and if it survives without being caught long enough, release whatever the result is (if it's a local species.) Might call my LFS to see how they store their plants before putting them in the display tanks, 'cause the only new thing in the last nine months other than fish is a marimo ball.

Looks like a damselfly nymph...but I can't tell you for sure with that photo.

Unless you have shrimp or very small fish...not a problem...

Yeah, at the size it's at pretty sure it can't harm my four-times-larger adolescent guppies, but I'll probably switch them anyways, just in case. Also, yep, horrible picture, but I'm lucky I even got that one. lol
