Okay...we just found a used car for my 17-year old...he's working so he's buying it...I'm just the short-term loan officer for him...

I've spent close to 2 months looking at older model cars in his price range...it's been driving me nuts! His first car...that he had for an entire 2 weeks last October before he killed it... was a 1987 automatic 2 dr Ford Tempo...

His new car is a 1992 standard 2 dr Mazda MX3...we'll pick it up on Monday and drive it directly to the mechanic since it need a new timing belt...it needs some other work too...but hopefully it'll do him for a few years...

I drive a 1999 Ford 250 Diesel...and a 2001 KIA Sportage...

What do you drive? :28:

HA! Great minds think alike! I was thinking about making a thread like this the other day.

At the current moment, i drive a 1988 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab 4x4.

Manual baby!

...my KIA is standard! The Ford Diesel is automatic...both are 4X4s...

I prefer standard...more fun to drive...UNLESS you're in a long line-up at the drive-through...then it sucks big-time...

Is the duely custom?

ChromeLibrarian
07-17-2007, 01:20 AM
Yep. And it needs a new rear axle, which is going to be a pain, because one will have to be custom made.

I just picked up my 2007 City Golf (Golf 4, and yes, the Golf 4 is still sold in Canada, as the Golf 5 was only introduced into North America last year) last week. Fully loaded with A/C, cruise control, heated seats, power everything. Lot's of mods planned next year for it.

I removed the front lip a long time ago, but yeah. Currently it's out of service with a transmission leak. Driving an astro van at the moment... But yeah haven't actually done much to the car just some basic stuff:

- AEM intake with a pipe extension
- DC 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold
- Straight pipe into a HKS catback
- Koni shocks w/ H&R springs
- Slightly greater negative camber on the front to help w/ the understeer
- ASA 16x7.5" wheels w/ BF Goodrich G-Force tires
- B&M short shifter
- Kenwood CD player w/ two Diamond speakers in the rear, and a Rockford sub and amp etc.
- Carbon fiber hood
- Rewired for JDM one-piece headlights
- JDM sidemarkers
- Painted the turn signals yellow
- Put stock 92-93 tailights on the rear
- New poly suspension bushings

Other than that stuff did some bodywork on the car after it had been hit and then had it repainted (painting was the only thing I don't have tools for). It's a daily driver and I never want it to be anything more, done with mods. It's lowered, loud, pretty, drives well, and I love it.

And Mr. Silvia, have some respect for Honda.

I've seen enough FWD cars winning on the Auto-X course to know not to hate on them. With the proper tuning you can get great handling characteristics out of them. Actually look at touring cars in Europe, the RSX was running in front for a long time (beating BMWs, Audis, Mercs, etc.)

I drive a Porsche Cayenne 2006. You wouldn't believe how i got it.. I was in this mall, and i saw a fish store, i went in, and i couldn't believe my eyes. It was the fanciest fish store i had ever seen. It's the cleanest thing i had ever seen.. But, it was also the most expensive i had ever seen. I remember they were like 5x higher. Everyone was talking about it, thats why i went.. I baught a python and some food. After i had paid, the cashier gave me 2 tickets to enter a draw, there was this thing were when you buy anything from that mall you can enter the draw. So i filled in my name and number etc.. 6 days later, i get a call saying i won a car. I thought it was a prank call or something so i just played along, then they said the malls name.. im like i i i w w wwoo woo woonnn? So i gave them my address and it arrived 3 days later lol.
