That this hobby has a firm grip on you? That maybe, just maybe, this hobby is taking over your house? How to put this..... ....I look around and in the "fishroom" there are three tanks. There is also a nice grouping of fake aquarium decor that I will probably use sometime in the future. But it sure is tempting to get another tank and see how all this would look in there! I also have an empty aquarium that will hold live crickets when I buy them tomorrow. There is also an empty cooler sitting next to the computer desk. It's pretending to be a small table but in reality, it's there in case I need to put a fish in there under emergency situations. I also have a larger container holding saltwater. This is for water changes but it also serves as a backup container for any saltwater fish that may need it.
In the laundry room is a nice sturdy wooden shelf. To be fair there is a bird cage on there and a small box with bird related items in it. There is also a small box with dog related items in it. The remaining space (and there's 5 shelves of it) is directly related to fish items. Pumps, filters, filter media, python, heaters, air tubing - actually gobs and gobs of tubing, there's more decorations, meds, etc.... the shelves are FULL of this stuff!
The bedroom has one of the 75g's in there. Under the tank is a stack of fish magazines and on the nightstand are another 5 or 6 mags and several catalogs from Drs. Foster and Smith.
Out on the back porch is a half empty 5g tank that needs to be cleaned out and a UV sterilizer that needs to be cleaned and taken apart to put away. Oh, and on the dryer on a towel is a net I used earlier today and the turkey baster I used too. (I bought a new shrimp and two crabs for my SW tank today, I use the turkey baster for acclimation purposes).

I think I have hoarding issues when it comes to fish. The rest of my house is uncluttered and if I don't use something within a certain timeframe I get rid of it. If anything else in the house doesn't work or it only works somewhat it's gone. But if it's a fish related item I just can't seem to part with it!! I have a rolled up piece of background that is all of "maybe" 6 inches wide! Now what on earth would I need to keep that for?
I told you that I bought a few new critters for the SW tank right? What I didn't tell you is that the store I got them from was new to me, I had just seen it last week when I took a road I don't normally take. Anyway they had some awesome fish in there! Electric blue Jack Dempseys for $40!! I wanted one sooooo bad.....no where to put one though!! And the most outstanding was a red texas flowerhorn juvie. Absolutely gorgeous and selling for $300!! I think I stood there and drooled for 10 minutes looking at that boy.....
I've just recently taken down the 5g - put the male betta in the 30g with the other fish - and now I want to put up another tank...only BIGGER!!!
I thought maybe I had gotten my MTS under control by taking down that 5g but I think I was just fooling myself...

Please tell me I'm not alone in this! :11:

Well, I seem to have a problem dreaming of fish. I either dream I'm out of food and they are all begging, or I have 300 fish in one tank, or a tank is leaking or....or....or.

I moved into my apartment a bit less than 2 years ago and of course started with furniture I had just bought. The new coffee table and both end tables had to go to make room for fish tanks and the lamps that were sitting on the tables. I have moved tanks around until I'm blue in the face to make room for more.

Now I am thinking of down sizing my one living room chair. Decided I could add another tank if that darned chair wasn't so big.

Ha that virus isnt just an epidemy its a pandemy...I just see myself in the starting post, and in the answers.

And by the way, I often, very often, almost always to be honest, ponder about how to find a place, like an old office or a small industrial hall (of course ground floor and cheap) where I could really start my hobby going. It should be a kind of an LFS on a very samll scale (just for taxes and energy and water prizes) but in reality it would be a place where I could put up really BIG tanks, in which I could keep those really BIG guys, like Vieja synspilum & CO.

Hmmm...but those places for rent, which are near to my home are so darnt expensive....

I already ponederd about selling my 2 troom condo and change it for a three room condo....but groundfloor not in a Ghetto...unpayable for me....

Having a pet shop does sound like a good thing, but I think it would end up making things worse in the long run....every cool or unusual fish that came through the door would end up in my home which is already innudated with fish and their related stuff. Did I mention the collection of fish books and the fish decor in my house?? I collect these things now too....

What I think would be absolutely awesome would be to buy a home and convert the garage into a fish room. I've also seen plans that people have used to build a fish house behind their homes. I would like it to be part of my home, however, so you can open it up to the house.

No problem if the tank should leak, good solid cement floors with benches built EVERYWHERE for more tanks. OHHHHH, to dream!

Oh yes the weirdos dreams...

Mine is: (if I had the money of Bill Gates of course...) buy a real big spot of land somewhere, with a nice electricity source nearby only for me, and then build my own Central American river scenery. And to keep that scenery subtropical there would be an all glass bulding around and above it. Like those tropical garden things you find in zoos.

Then a dream of mine could become true....swimming with my fishies:19: :19:

Yeah I know I have a problem:laugh1blue:
