i got a guppy that was ready to have babiesso i set up a ten gallon tank.woke up one day and there they were a bunch of babies.i took her out a few days later.the dumb queston is there are less babies now then when she had them and she has beenout of there for almost two weeks.since i'm new at this fish thing is it possible they got sucked up in the filter?

What kind of filter are you using? You're supposed to use a sponge filter for those setups.

It's possible and likely, They may have even survived in your filter for a while.. But not two weeks.
You could get some type of sponge pre-filter or DIY a chunk of some clean unwashed nylons to prevent this from reoccuring.

now that they are two weeks old should i do the sponge thing or is the power filter ok for the ones that are left

if they can fit into the intake strainer then it needs a sponge on it.

Bummer, just checked the filter and yep there was a bunch stuck to it. There were a few that were alive so i got them out.I will do the sponge thing tomorrow.
See i didn't intend to breed them but i listened to someone that said if they are gravid (or whatever that word is for being pregnant)and don't have them that the mother could die.
So instead of getting the books out and reading up on how to set up a breeding tank, i listened to the advice the person gave me instead.Which wasn't good.
I still have like twenty or so fry left.But from now on i just have to get more info before trying something like that.

I unplugged it for tonight.I'm gonna run to the store tomorrow i don't have any clean sponge.
