What in the world is this?

I noticed this on my snail the other day & thought it was poop...but it is still there today...It' not poop & doesn't move...but I haven't really taken a closer look yet

OMG OMG my poor snail!!!!!

I just touched the lump thing & my snail closed its shell a bit I touched it again & it closed its shell more...then I realized what it was!!!!!!

It's Hippo's foot...coming though the door or whatever that part is actually called!!

Poor thing! Is the 'door' supposed to be attached all the way around to the snails foot? It's not anymore - seems to be the back half is attached & around the hole seems tobe attached still.

I know my apple snails are all deteriorating & slowing dying but this is sad! I guess the liquid calcium isn't working!

Have you checked your PH? That shell looks like it's riddled with pitting from acid wear.
