Since the water hyacinths in my pond grow so fast, I have to continuously weed them out and I put the excess hyacinths in my pool that my stream empties into, somewhere along the stream, or in my bog (fortunately--I guess--this time I put them in the pool). Well.....unbeknown to me, my Goldfish (photo attached) had laid eggs and they were attached to one or all of the water hyacinths I removed. You can guess the rest, yes--there were dozens of little goldfish fry in my pool. What is so weird is that with even knowing what steps to take concerning the care of goldfish babies, I accidentally took quite a few of the right steps. They were removed from their parents and they were placed in a warm shallow pool where they would not be subjected to water pressure. They are progressing well and are 1/2 - 3/4 inch already. Soon I guess I will be hanging out the "FREE GOLDFISH" sign.
