good deal or not?

I finally found a 75 gallon for $200 with the stand, 2 emperor 400s and two stealth heaters. It also has a homemade under gravel filter (which i plan to remove). There are a few chips and scratches on the satnd but nothing i cant deal with. What do you think?

sounds decent. I don't usually factor in HOBs or heaters into how much I end up paying for used tanks. Also make sure that those stealths aren't the ones that are on recall.
If they are, you might be able to get some money for returning them or exchange.

I got a 125 with a stand and no equipment a few months back for $100. It was a really good deal though so it's definitely not the norm. The prices vary region to region also, but in general I try to pay about $100 for a 55g, $150 if it is nice shape and has filtration and lighting, maybe slightly more if it has any kind of high end equipment on it.

Its honestly not the best deal out there, those Emp400s are pieces of crap...I have never seen one that wasnt loud and didnt have random quirks. I would offer them $150 and see how it goes...brand new 75Gs with glass tops and a strip light here are around $150...the stand is usually $100 more.

I was planning on replacing the filters with a AC 110 anyway. I did check the LFS too, and new set ups cost about 2 -2 1/2 times that here. I have not sealed the deal yet, so there is hope.

Good deal I think as long as the tank doesn't leak. You can easily paint the stand in an hour.
