Hello all. I joined this group because I am constantly looking for answers. Here is my first entry:
In April 2006, we purchased some comets, a few fancy goldfish, and some plecos for our outside pond. We brought them inside in November for the winter. In April 2007, when we were putting the Comets back into the pond, we noticed a small brown fish in the pond. All we could figure was that a bird released its dropping containing a fish egg into our pond. Okay, now the mystery is beginning—today when the sun shined on the “Brown” fish we noticed that the entire bottom half of this fish is gold like the comets and the entire top half is black like the fancy Spanish moor goldfish. I believe it is impossible not only for a goldfish only 7 months old to lay eggs and fertilize them but also for only one fish to survive the winter (not too harsh in NW Florida) and no others. Can anyone come up with a feasible idea about how this could happen?????:c12:
