Very new to this forum and can't find the info anywhere else So thought I should just ask..
I have convict babies in my very small tank like 50-80 of them I don't have another tank to put them in. They have been in there about 3 or 4 months now and are only around a centimetre long 1/4 inch. Can I sell them like this?
I've read that at that small they aren't ready but mine are not exactly young I figure stunted due to the small tank..:help:

Not many people will buy convicts due to so much availability of them. They have hundreds of fry a year. You could try some stores in your area just to see if they would take them off your hands and find them homes.

Trying to sell them online is not very successful since the shipping and bags for shipping cost more than the fish are worth. I put an ad in FreeCycle (you may have it in your area) and gave away a bunch of firemouths but ended up culling probably 200 more.

There's no point in having major spawns like this if you haven't a means of getting rid of them.

Didn't mean to have babies it just happened, had no idea that I had a male and female nor that they were so easy to breed.. The girl at the store couldn't tell me much when I was looking for fish (I wanted non territorial ones lol)

I even thought when all of a sudden my tank was swarming with the fry that they wouldn't survive the environment but here I am with heaps still :)

Its fun to raise a batch of fry every so often but often times it is difficult to get rid of the babies...especially cichlid babies. Most people dont want cichlids, baby american cichlids are drab thus not attractive to most people, it is difficult to move them. Convicts are honestly a dime a dozen, giving them away to responsible owners is going to be your best bet. They are stunted as well...up the WCs on the tank to 50% per day until you move them.

Sell them as feeders...or use them as feeders to your own fish (if you have something that will eat them).

They are so prolific, as said by others, they are difficult to move on
